formal organizations, there are a few active
non-profit organizations in North America (usually sponsored partly by
the membership and partly by various governments):

International non-profit organization devoted to promotion
of Czech and Slovak culture, preservation of Czech and Slovak
heritage abroad and cultural co-operation between the US and the
Czech Republic and Slovakia. It publishes newletter "Zpravy SVU",
organizes annual conferences, SVU world congresses every other
year, publishes Kosmas. Membership
includes individuals with professional or family interest in the
Czech Republic and/or Slovakia.

Czech Heritage Preservation Society

Organization for preservation of Czech heritage by preserving
the language, culture and buildings of ancestors. Hold regular meetings
parties and publish a newsletter. The organization celebrates
the Czech days in June, Christmas parties, Haloween party, Czech
language program and picnic. Anyone may join.

Ethnic, cultural, gymnastics organization to further the knowledge
of Czech and Slovak culture. The organization holds monthly

of age or older.
