January 20 - Kosice Chapter. Lecture of doc. Dusan Kovac, DrSc., Director, Historical Institute, Slovak academy of sciences on "100th Anniversary of Development in slovakia".

January 30 - Los Angeles Chapter - General Meeting - Elections of new Board of Directors. Report of the Fund Raiser and distribution of the scholarships from Frank Marlow Memorial Scholarship Fund. Film about Emma Destinova, the so called the Devine Emma (made in Czechoslovakia in 1983)

February 10 - Prague chapter. Lecture of Peter Spielman, Director of Bochum Museum in Germany. on Will Nowak and his pupils.

February 13 - Los Angeles Chapter is organizing a visit to the new J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles - members will meet in the Museum for discussion about the collections.

February 15 - Washington DC Chapter is showing a film "Jara Cimrman. Zahada - fenomen" with commentary by Frantisek Safertal.

March 4 - Pittsburgh Chapter, jointly with the University of Pittsburgh' Czechoslovak Classroom Committee - is planning a meeting to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Thomas G. Masaryk. Presentation by Dr. Zdenek Suda.

March 5 - Los Angeles Chapter is co-sponsoring a Celebration of T.G. Masaryk - Afternoon with a lecture and TV Film, organized in cooperation with other Czech Clubs in L.A.

March 6-7 - Brno Chapter is participating in the celebrations of 150th anniversary of the birth of T.G. Masaryk in Hodonin and Brno..

March 7 - Kosice Chapter. Participation in the 150th anniversary of the birth of T. G. Masaryk, with the lecture of SVU member ThDr. Julius Filo, Bishop Emeritus of Kosice.

March 7 - Minnesota Chapter in cooperation with Czech and Slovak Sokol Minnesota is planning a celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birthday of President Thomas G. Masaryk, as well as dedication of the newly completed quarters of the honorary consul of the Czech Republic in St. Paul

March 7 - Pittsburgh Chapter, jointly with the Czechoslovak Room committee of the university of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh-Ostrava City Committee - The Ceremony to Remember the 150th Birthday of Thomas G. Masaryk, Founder and First President of the Czechoslovak Republic.

April 4 - Brno Chapter is planning a lecture by Antonin Mestan , Professor at Freiburg University, on "Present Day National Stereotypes - Examples of Czech Stereotypes of the Poles and Polish Stereotypes of the Czechs" To be held at the Philosophical Faculty of Masaryk University.

April 6 - Prague Chapter, jointly with the European Cultural Club, is planning a discussion on "Forum 2000 - Retrospect and Prospects" to be moderated by Dr. Jiri Pehe of New York University Branch in Prague.

April 8 - Edmonton Chapter is having its Annual Banquet with an invited guest speaker, Prof. Jiri Krupicka, geologist, philosopher and writer, the recipient of a recent prize from the Czech Pen Club for his book, Renesance rozumu.

April 11- Munich Chapter, jointly with the Christian Academy, is sponsoring a lecture on "Antonin Dvorak" to be presented by Prof. Jaroslav Ruis, a member of Dvorak Quartet, Prague. The meeting will take place in Velehrad, Kreuzstrasse 16, near Sendlinger-TorPlatz.

April 13 - Prague Chapter is planning a lecture by an actress Vlasta Chramostova. The meeting is scheduled for 5 PM in the building of the Academy of Sciences, Narodni trida 3, Praha l.

April 15 - Los Angeles Chapter is planning a lecture on Alfons Mucha, His Life and Works.

June 13 - Prague Chapter. Taking part in "Presentation of the book Postavy nasi Ameriky" by SVU President Miloslav Rechcigl in the Senate. The presentation was introduced by Petr Pithart, Deputy Chairman of the Senate.
