Czech Roots of President Bush

Recently a "bizarre" story was reported by Radio PRAHA regarding the possibility that George W. Bush may have Czech roots without giving specific details. I immediately contacted Radio PRAHA and several knowledgeable individuals and societies in the Czech Republic specializing in Czech genealogy to get some evidence and proof of the above claim. I have not received any response to my inquiries. Most people would surmise that the whole thing was a joke, if not a hoax.

Because of my inquisitive nature and a person who likes to dabble in the history and genealogy of important American personalities of Czech or Slovak descent, I decided to do some research on my own.

I am pleased to report that President Bush, as well as his father, have indeed Czech ancestors. In fact their direct line leads to the earliest days of the Kingdom of Bohemia, their oldest known Czech ancestors being Borivoj I and St. Ludmila.
